1Password seems not to autofill if website is using selfsigned certificate or is non https site. This is rather annoying. Is there any workaround available?

  • Hi @TMEI

I'm not having any trouble filling on sites with self-signed certificates:

Have you tried saving a new login form for the site(s) you're having trouble with?

How to save a Login manually in your browser

I get a popup with suggestions (1 suggestion, website is an exact match) but cmd+# is not autofilling.

  • Okay, have you tried saving a new login for it? It is possible the login form has changed enough since the original was saved that a new capture is needed.

I just deleted the old entry and saved a new one. No luck.

Could you please try this link instead:

    Hi @TMEI,

Whatever is happening here I believe it will be specific to the FRITZ! sign-in page. 1Password leaves anything related to the certificate to the browser rather than duplicating their efforts and while I am aware of an issue in 1Password 7 for Windows related to IP addresses that is specific to that client and isn't present in 1Password for Mac. Unfortunately a sign-in page like this, one specific to a piece of hardware means we can't easily test unless somebody on the team happens to have a FRITZ! device themselves. I don't and I can't remember anybody referencing one in the past. I will ask though in case we get lucky.

    Hi @TMEI,

I've just now noticed something you said earlier that I didn't pick up on and I wonder if you can clarify.

    1. With the FRITZ! sign-in page in an open tab, what matches does 1Password display when you click the 1Password button in the browser toolbar?
    2. If you search for your FRITZ! Login item, what does the blue button display in the item details, does it display as Go or AutoFill?
    3. If the item shows an AutoFill button, does it fill if you click it?

Filling using cmd+# does not work but suddenly AutoFill does work. It did not work a few days ago. No changes were made on my side. I'm not sure if the new filling 'brain' knows what it's doing.

    Greetings @TMEI,

I could still love to learn answers for the three questions I had as they may help identify what is going on.

It's just 1 match (suggestions) as shown in screenshot above. It shows AutoFill and it's filling but cmd+# is not.

    Hi @TMEI,

Thank you. I think I know what is causing this and it is something we will need to address in a fix to some of the big changes we made in 1Password 7.3 for Mac.
