How to set up a shared vault with stand-alone 1Password 6

Hi,

I'm trying to create a shared vault that other users with the stand-alone app can open using their own password, because having a shared password for a vault is of course a bad idea. However I can't figure out how.

Is this at all possible with the stand-alone 1Password 6 app?

If not, what are my other options of achieving the same outcome? Of course we'd rather not switch to a membership, since we already have the license.

Best,
Sander

  • Hi @SanderDePander

We don't support sharing except through membership. With a membership each person has their own account (own Master Password) through which they access any vaults that have been shared with them. Additionally, upgrading to a membership would get you access to the latest versions of 1Password for all of your devices. You're currently a major version behind. 1Password 6 has been superseded by 1Password 7 and the former is no longer being developed.

I would recommend reaching out to our sales team with copies of your receipts to see how they can best help you move forward:

    • For family use, sales@1password.com
    • For business use, business@1password.com

    I hope that helps!

    Ben
