why doesn't the app require a password when I open it on my mac?
I am new to 1password. I am confused as to why the app on my mac opens without requiring a password. I quit out of it but it just reopens without a password. Seems like this is un-secure if I leave my computer open and it has not gone to sleep yet.

Hi @katendonna! Welcome to the forum!
I quit out of it but it just reopens without a password.
Can you please confirm how you are quitting out of it? Thank you!

I used command >q. Subsequent to posting my original question, I discovered in preferences>security for 1 password the one box left unchecked was “lock when main window is closed”. That works.

Thanks for the update @katendonna. Additionally I'd recommend locking your computer when walking away from it. ⌃⌘Q should do it, or you can click the Apple logo > Lock Screen.
