Cannot get browser integration (fully?) working

I seem to not get the browser integration properly working, using Firefox (88.0) on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS.

What does work:

  • 1password app gets started when the browser gets started
  • When the extension is unlocked, clicking "Open and fill" in 1password app does open the site and fill in the user/password

What does not work:

  • Unlocking or locking either the extension or the app doesn't also unlock/lock the other.
  • When the extension is not unlocked, clicking "Open and fill" in 1password app opens the 1P download page

From the extension's console log (from about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox -> Inspect), just after startup:

The character encoding of the HTML document was not declared. The document will render with garbled text in some browser configurations if the document contains characters from outside the US-ASCII range. The character encoding of the page must be declared in the document or in the transfer protocol. extension.html

Any suggestions how to get this working or what else to check?

Thanks,
Paul

Hey there @lieverse, thanks so much for writing in - I'm really sorry you're running into this issue with 1Password!

I'd like to get a look at the BrowserSupport logs from your device to see if we can sort out what's going on behind-the-scenes - let's continue this conversation over email. Could you zip up the contents of .config/1Password/logs, and attach it in an email to [email protected]? Please include my name in the subject line so I can track it down on my end. :+1:

    Thanks again!
