I'm very excited to announce we're bringing the next generation of 1Password to the Mac. 🎉
1Password 8 has been completely recreated and reimagines everything that makes 1Password great. Today we’re opening early access so you can get in on the fun.
Before getting started, completely quit 1Password 7 (⌘⌃⌥Q) and Safari, then move 1Password from the /Applications folder to the Trash. Your data will remain and you can go back to 1Password 7 if you decide the early access isn’t for you.
Download the new release and move the new 1Password.app to the /Applications folder before launching. On the welcome screen, sign in to your 1Password account. If you are not yet subscribed to 1Password.com (or .ca🇨🇦 / .eu🇪🇺) see Setting up a new 1Password.com account for details on creating an account and migrating over your data.
Keep in mind this is an early access so it should be used for testing and validation purposes only and is not suitable for business critical environments. For a stable experience on Mac, continue to use 1Password 7 for now.
To minimize file size and maximize performance, we're offering separate Apple silicon and Intel builds. Download the best one for your system. If in doubt, download the Intel version.
You'll also want to use the beta release of 1Password in your browser:
We'd love to hear about your experiences with this version as we work toward a stable release in the fall. Please feel free to start a new thread or contribute to an existing one.
