About Linux Usage Licensing

I am a long time 1Password user on MacOS and iOS. I see there is a linux version available. I've downloaded it. How do I buy a license? What is this account thing it asks for? Don't tell that 1Password for Linux keeps my info on some server.

At this point we have stopped selling 1Password licenses. Our Founder, Dave Teare, posted a really informative outline of the reason for changing our support for standalone licenses here: https://1password.community/discussion/comment/601917/#Comment_601917

  • I've read the text at the link and still don't understand about vaults. Is my data on my hard drive or on your server. It mentions stand alone vaults for an extra fee? Simple question-if I get an account at 1Password.com, where is my password data stored?

It would be stored on 1Password.com, with a cached copy locally on your device, so you can access it even when you are offline. For more information about standalone vaults, please see this other post from Dave with more details :+1:
