Chrome - which extension?

I went to clean out some Chrome extensions (get rid of old stuff). And I noticed there are two 1P extensions installed in Chrome, and both seem to be current valid Chrome extensions, and both updated in 2021.

Are they both the same? Should I use one over another?

Manager is v2.0.5
Manager with desktop app is 4.7.5.90

Chrome is latest build

1Password Version: 787

  • Hello @John Mc,

    There are currently two 1Password extensions you can download for your browsers;

    The first one is The 1Password extension (Desktop app required) We call this a classic extension because the new 1Password will soon replace it. Most users who used 1Password before will be familiar with this. This extension can't work on its own, and users must have the 1Password app (1Password 7) installed. You can get the classic 1Password extension from here: https://support.1password.com/cs/1password-classic-extension/ => scroll down to "Install the 1Password classic extension" and select your browser.

    The second one is 1Password - Password Manager. It is a standalone extension that works without the need for the 1Password app. It is our latest product, and you can find more information about 1Password from here: https://support.1password.com/getting-started-browser/. This extension also has a better saving and filling ability, and we no longer support "1Password extension (Desktop app required)" so I highly recommend using "1Password - Password Manager" on your browsers.
