Syncing options between iOS and Mac
ios version 4.x no longer supports wi-fi sync and the ONLY way to now sync between ios devices and os is via dropbox. Correct?
And if you are using the Mac App store version of 1Password, the only way to sync via dropbox is to move your dropbox folder into your user folder, and out of say, the DESKTOP folder where it conveniently resides. Correct?
Am I getting this right? Can hardly believe it.
If all of the above is correct, does this mean if I switch to os 1Password downloaded from agilebits and avoid the Mac App store version, I will be able to keep my Dropbox folder on my desktop?
Any help appreciated. I have hit a wall. hoping it's only a conceptual wall!
Thanks.

What you say is correct, but there is also a USB Sync tool for direct syncing without going through a central server.
As for the sandboxing issue, please see my post in this other thread:
