Do I need to remove the password program currently on my Windows system or will 1Password write over it?

Hi @carol0707!
Which password program do you currently have installed on your Windows system, and what are you trying to install?

I currently have the password program from Firefox and it has been on there for several years. I am interested in 1Password but have not decided whether to immediately go with the upgrade.

Hi @carol0707!
Thanks for your interest in 1Password and getting back to us with is updated information. It sounds like you are referring to the Firefox's built in password manager. 1Password is separate and will not overwrite the data you have housed there.
If you'd like to start a trial with 1Password, you can do so by following this link: https://support.1password.com/explore/get-started/
Once your account is created and 1Password set up, you can export your password data from Firefox and import that data into 1Password from the
.CSV
file created: https://support.1password.com/import-1password-com/With regard to your concerns about Firefox's built-in password manager, if you decide to continue to use 1Password, we do recommend disabling this so it does not interfere with 1Password. This guide discusses how you can disable Firefox's password manager: https://support.1password.com/disable-browser-password-manager/#firefox-windows
I hope this information is a helpful start, but please let us know if you have further questions. You can also reach us here: https://support.1password.com/contact/
Have a good one! :)
