Can we hide certain logins from the website login list choices

Hi,

For some websites, I have multiple possible Logins. I had the best one as a favorite which puts it on top.

Is it true that if there is only one login choice, 1 password will automatically fill it in? This would be my goal rather than having to choose the top one on the list.

In some cases, I really won't be using the others for various reasons but do not want to delete them. Is there a way to hide these somehow so they will not show up in the list when logging in?

I would bet that if I changed a login item to a security note, then that would in a fact hide it from the login possible list. Is that correct?

Is there a better easier way to simply hide certain logins so they do not show up in the possible login list?

Thanks– Dave

    Hey @dealtek ,

If you have a single login entry for a website, you can press the autofill keyboard shortcut (CMD+\ by default) and it will autofill it instead of showing you the list of options to choose from.

If you'd like to hide certain logins, I'd recommend you create a new vault in your 1Password and name it something like "Hidden", then throw all the login entries you don't want to show up in your browser into that vault. In 1Password's settings, turn off that vault so it wouldn't show up in suggestions anymore.

If you can let me know which browser you are using and what is the 1Password extension version that is installed in your browser, I can provide you with more exact steps on how to achieve this.

Also did I just see that "archive is the new trash"?
If I archive these older ones will they vanish from the login list?

    Hey @dealtek ,

Since you are using the older 1Password Classic extension in your browsers, you can utilize a little feature flag that makes login entries as hidden in the browser:

    1. Open your 1Password desktop app.
    2. Locate a login that you do not wish to see in your browser, select it and click on "edit".
    3. While in edit mode, scroll to the bottom of the item's details until you reach the "Display" flag and change it from "Suggest in browser" to "Never suggest in browser".

You will have to do that for every item you don't want to show up in your browsers, and it will only work with the classic extension (4.7.5.90).

If I archive these older ones will they vanish from the login list?

Yes, things that are archived or trashed do not show up in the browser.

On a Mac, this only works for Safari.
What about logins that are shared and managed by other users?

    @SerhiiVdovenko

You're right, this feature is only respected by the Safari App Extension, that comes built in with 1Password 7 for Mac, or the 1Password classic extension - which Yaron mentioned. If you're using the newer version of 1Password in the browser, the feature to hide it from the inline menu is not currently supported. We have an open feature request to track this, I'll be happy to add your voice to the list of users who would like to see this.

To confirm, are the shared items (managed by other users) in a separate vault? If so, you can exclude that vault from view by right- clicking the 1Password icon in your browser toolbar, and choosing Settings. At the bottom of the page, under Accounts & Vaults, you can disable the vault containing the shared items. Keep in mind, if there are some items that you need from said vault, they will also be excluded once you've disabled it from view.
