Where do the icons for the websites come from?

Hi all,

when I'm saving a new login on a website, I have 3 different behaviours regards the website Icon:

  • The correct Website icon was stored
  • No Website icon was stored
  • A complete different website icon nothing related to this page was stored

I changed it manually afterwards, no problem, but I'm interested in, where do the icons come from?

Is the HTML header parsed or is there a database behind it? Or a complete different way?

Greetings

    Hi @GoatMachine !

or is there a database behind it?

That's it. Rich icons are provided by 1Password.

If you want 1Password to use a different icon for a website, you could send that icon to support@1password.com and maybe they will add it to their database.

Or you could change the icons just for yourself by uploading them into your entries. 😉
