Add a new SSH login shows "Open network location" instead of link to launch SSH session

I use Linux mint and and followed this closed discussion with regards to SSH logins:

On my system, when I create a new SSH login, clicking a link doesn't start SSH. Instead, in the Linux Mint UI, a network location is openened and I am able to browse the remote server's files. My intention is to use SSH, not launch file management.
