Upgrade from 1Password 7 to 1Password 8

    OK, I'm so, so, so confused. I purchased 1Password 7 (or paid for the upgrade from 6, etc.) -- DOES THAT MEAN I HAVE A MEMBERSHIP???? I can't find answers to this anywhere and I'm not doing anything to screw up my vault until I can find out. Can somebody help me please? I sent an email to 1Password support 2 weeks or so ago but have yet to get a reply. Thank you, thank you

    Hi @SallyC:

    Great question. If you made a one time purchase to upgrade from 1Password 6 to 7, that would not be a membership. We're offering some great promotions if you'd like to migrate to a 1Password membership. I wasn't able to locate any recent emails from you in our system. Did you receive a reply from BitBot that contained a support ID? It should look something like [#ABC-12345-678]. If you received one, post it here, and I'll be able to locate your email conversation with us.

    Thank you Jack. That's what I presumed I needed to do and will migrate to a membership. No problem. Where can I find info about how to then get my data from 7 to 8??? Or is it obvious?

    Hi @SallyC:

    Once you've migrated your data to a 1Password membership, installing 1Password 8 is all you'll need to do.

    Just so you know, I've split your posts off into a separate thread. 😀

    OK, I think I have a mess here. I signed up for membership. Got this notice and have no idea what it means (won't let me attach screen shot here but here's what it says). "The migration was successful. However, because WLAN Sync is enabled, your standalone vaults (????) have not been removed. To complete the migration, manually run WLAN Sync on all of your mobile devices and then remove your standalone vaults." I do not want to set up on mobile devices until I'm sure I've got set up on my Mac done. I was able to dig 7 out of my trash folder, otherwise, I'm be in deep caca! It also appears I now have 2 accounts - the membership I just set up plus my original. I think I screwed up and used a different email!

    I forgot that Jack gave me a link to instructions so I just followed the set up from the website. Can I start over?????

    If you sign in at https://start.1password.com/ are you able to view all of your data there, or are there some items that do not appear? And have you printed a copy of your Emergency Kit?

    When I went to the url you gave me, the 2 accounts showed up. When I signed in to my 1Password 7 account, everything seemed to be there. When I signed in to the 8 membership account, nothing was there.

    Okay, thanks @SallyC. There shouldn't be two separate accounts: just one. 1Password 7 and 8 can use the same account. I'd like to get you in touch with our membership specialists in order to sort this out. Could you please shoot them an email at [email protected] and mention that you've ended up with two separate 1Password accounts, one of which has your data and the other does not? They will be able to help you from there.
