This is happened on at least 3 sites so far, and seems very odd to me. I tried signing on to a site in 1password on Safari and it would not work. I opened chrome and clicked open 1password, and it signed in just fine. What the heck???

1Password Version: 1password 8 for mac
Extension Version: ver 2.3.7
OS Version: IOS 12.3
Browser:_ chrome/safari

Oh, and I failed to say that the passwords were created using the chrome extension, likely in version 7 of 1password

  • Hi @mwrluthier:

That definitely doesn't sound like the experience we want you to have. Just to confirm, if you click Reveal on the password in this Login item in 1Password in both Chrome and Safari, are they the same password?

Let me know, and I'll be able to take a closer look.

I'm in the process of switching from my 2017 macbook pro to a new macbook air M1. In the process I decided to try running on Safari, since it is the product provided with the mac - i had previously run exclusively on chrome. I'll keep this string in my email and let you know if i can further nail down exactly what is going on here.

    Thanks for your prompt response.

  • Hi @mwrluthier:

I just wanted to check back in and see if you're still running into trouble with passwords being different across browsers. Let me know!
