Multiple Usernames for same account

Hello, We are using 1password within my organization. We have our active directory account. I save that password into my 1password vault so I can use it to authenticate to various systems. Some systems require domain\username while others only need username. Is there a way to have multiple usernames but the same password without creating 2 different entries? The problem is that with multiple service accounts when passwords change if I have to update the entry for domain\username and username it gets to be tedious. I'm hoping I'm missing something obvious.

    Hi @codog180,

Thanks for the update and apologies for the late response. Each saved login uses the URL to know what credentials to fill, but you can add multiple URLs to a given login item saved with all three credentials (domain\username\password). If you are always using the same domain\username, does a login item saved in this manner fill correctly for you in cases where it requires domain\username and others that only need username?

If you're dealing with multiple different domains and/or usernames credentials, those logins will need to be saved separately and the password updated in each item. It's not possible to update a password across multiple different login items, but Using Watchtower to locate reused passwords will be helpful for finding the items that need to be updated.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Hi ag_mike_d I am using 1password in the browser. However, if I save it it creates a different entry for each site so when it's time to update my password I have to update each entry. If there is another way for me to do it where it knows what to fill in for each site but I only have to update the password one time?

    Hello @codog180,

Thanks for your question. Are you using 1Password in the browser to fill these credentials normally? In cases where three sets of credentials are needed, domain, username and password, saving that entry with 1Password in the browser will include and subsequently fill those three sets of credentials from the same entry.

Please let us know if this helps or if you are following a different process for entering those credentials currently.
