how is it possible that a password is updated in 1P8 but not reflected in the Safari extension?
I updated a login password in 1P8, but for the life of me, I can't get the password to update in the 1P for Safari extension! I.e. if I click on the 1P icon in the Safari toolbar, it still shows the previous "weak" password, even though it shows as "fantastic" in the 1P8 app:
Is this sync dependent on the internet connection? If it is, it shouldn't be.
I have to be honest that I'm fed up with 1P. It's hardly seamless to use, and quite buggy. Certain bugs like remembering the collection across launches of the app were supposed to be fixed long ago and still haven't been satisfactorily. The 1P8 for iOS app crashes randomly for no apparent reason, and there's the acknowledged problem where it refuses to accept a FaceID if a reset has been performed, but no communication from 1P about progress on this issue. 1P refuses to fill logins for certain websites, and you've made reporting them onerous. And frankly, it is laborious to report bugs -- this should be possible from directly within the app.
I know you folks are convinced that you have a great product, but I'm sorry to say that it doesn't really live up to its claims.

Hey @odysseus,
Thanks for messaging us! Your 1Password items sync automatically as long as you're online and if you are offline it will update as soon as you come online. From what you mentioned, you may need to reset 1Password in Safari:
- Clear Safari's cache by following the instructions posted here: Clear cache & cookies.
- Right-click on the 1Password icon on Safari's toolbar > Manage Extension.
- Click 'Uninstall'
- Install a fresh copy of 1Password from here: Get started with 1Password in your browser by clicking 'Install' under the Safari icon > Close and Open Safari > Try 1Password again.
If this fixes the issue, please let me know and we can dive into what could be happening to the 1Password for Safari Extension. After the extension is fixed I will help you figure out what is going on with the 1Password for iOS app.

You're replying after 3 weeks have elapsed? What kind of tech support is that? 😭

Most of my post is feedback. Has the FaceID problem (where it fails if a reset has been previously performed) been fixed or is that an Apple bug? The refusal to fill certain login fields -- well, I guess that goes with the territory. But it should be easier to report this.

Thank you for the reply. I'll respond below:

Our developers are still working on the 1Password 8 for iOS Face ID issue which is affecting a certain number of users. The team is treating this issue as a priority and we hope to release a fix with a future update. I'm sorry for the frustration that the issue is causing.

1Password for Safari maintains a separate connection to your 1Password account rather than grabbing data directly from the 1Password app. This means that if you don't have an active internet connection you won't see changes that were made using the app in the browser extension until you reconnect to the internet.
Do you see the changes made after you reconnect to the internet? If you don't then is the issue happening on a Mac or an iPhone/iPad?
Once we've taken a look at this issue we can look at the other issues you mentioned. 🙂

Thanks for the clarification. I'm not seeing that problem anymore.

I'm happy that you're now seeing the same items in both the app and in the browser. 🙂
1P refuses to fill logins for certain websites, and you've made reporting them onerous.
You also mentioned the above, do you have an example of a website where filling isn't working? I would be happy to report these issues to our developers. Alternatively, you can send reports directly to support@1Password.com and our team will be happy to look into this.
