CIBC On-Line Card Number Not Being Entered!
I am posting this in the Windows Forum noting I have this problem on _ALL O_F 1Password for iOS, macOS and Windows.
I have had this problem for the last two to three weeks and would really like to get it solved.
The Problem: When I try to log onto CIBC On-line (see https://www.cibconline.cibc.com/ebm-resources/online-banking/client/index.html#/auth/signon ) 1Password does not complete / fill the "card number" field; that is a) 1Password does enter the card number credentials in the card number name field and b) 1Password "associates" the card number field with the my visa an dotter credit cards (i.e., when I place the cursor in teh card number field I get a drop down list of every credit card I have but NO CIBC ON LINE BANKING CARD NUMBERS). Worth not in the CIBC On-line Password field IS properly entered!
Please advise how I can fix the problem or, if teh problem is on 1Password's end, please fix it.
Would really love to get this fixed.

Hello @Joelc! 👋
I'm sorry that 1Password is running into filling issues on the CIBC website. I see that one of my colleagues has already opened an internal issue for this and our developers will investigate further. While I can't make any promises, we should be able to update 1Password's filling brain to improve the situation here.
Thank you for reporting the issue. 🙂

Hello @Dave_1P :
I appreciate ALL of a) the response and b) that it is not me (i.e., others have the same experience) and c) that it is being worked on.
I hope that you can get this resolved shortly so that.
Would appreciate you keeping me posted on your progress.
Thank you.

@Dave_1P : Good morning. I would appreciate any update you can provide on this fix as it appears -- at least to an outsider like me -- that it is taking an extended period of time to fix, particularly given that I log onto CIBC online banking everyday to pay bills, etc. Thank you.

I'm sorry for the delayed response. I don't have any updates to provide at the moment, the issue has been filed with our developers and is in the backlog to be further investigated.
For the moment, you can save a new Login item using the following method as a workaround:
- Navigate to the login page of the website.
- Enter your details in all fields and click "Save in 1Password".
- Give the item a title and click "Save".
- Now refresh the page, click the Password field, click on the Login item you just created and see if you are able to fill.
1Password will save a custom field for the "Card number" field in the new item and should fill it correctly. However you need to click on, and fill from, the "Password" field on the CIBC website and not the "Card number" field in order to see the new Login item being suggested.
I know that this isn't an elegant solution and hopefully our developers will be able to improve filling on the website in question in the future.

@Dave_1P , it has been another month since we last exchanged post on this and I wold appreciate any update on this and the issue becoming -- correction, already is -- a real PITA. I am curious as to a) when it will be fixed (i.e., what is the ETA) and b) what is taking so long? Thx!

Thank you for following up. I see that the issue is still on our developer's list of things to look into but I don't have any updates to share.
Have you tried the steps that I provided in my previous post? Here's a link: https://1password.community/discussion/comment/664456/#Comment_664456

@Joelc That is strange. By creating a new login manually, the card number value should be saved appropriately. If you click on the password field and select the login, then both the card number and password fields should fill. This should happen consistently. Here is a video: https://share.cleanshot.com/wf1yIc
If that's not happening consistently on your end, please let us know the following:
- What device are you seeing the issue on?
- What browser are you using?
- What specific steps are you taking?
Once we get more details, we'll be able to look into this more!

@Joy_1P , appreciate the follow up and the response.
I tested this further and note the following:
It does not work when I place the cursor in the username field (i.e., the 1Password drown lists are for logins other than CIBC on-line).
It pes work when I place the cursor in the password field (i.e., the 1Password drown is for CIBC on-line).
Over to you!
Thanks.

@Joelc Thanks for testing! The filling would not work from the username field at this time. The good news is that our developers are aware of this issue. Hopefully there will be a fix in the future.
For now, please fill from the password field. I know that's not ideal but it's the best workaround until a better solution is available.
I hope this clarifies how to move forward. If you have any other questions, please let us know!

@steph.giles ; All good no worries. I have a workaround that works consistently and hopefully will soon have a permanent fix! Much thanks to all @ 1P!

Here is some additional info related to this problem (I have similar symptoms so assume it is same problem):
- CIBC account in 1Password is saved as a LOGIN type account
- CIBC has 2 URLs for signing in
- 1Password 'login' account works when signing in through www.cibc.com
- 1Password 'login' account does NOT work on www.cibconline.cibc.com
- manually adding www.cibconline.cibc.com to my 'login' account in 1Password did NOT solve the problem
- 1Password gives me CREDIT CARD options in the dropdown when signing in through www.cibconline.cibc.com
- adding a SECOND CIBC account of the CREDIT CARD type does add CIBC to the dropdown menu
It appears (from my limited testing) that something about the HTML in cibconline makes it appear that the card number field is for a credit card and not an access card
