Is it possible to have multiple usernames linked to one password?
Hi there!
I have seen this question asked a few times in this community, as such this is more of an add +1 to the list of people who would find this useful question if anything, but also really interested to see if anyone has a good solution at the moment!
The issue I'm facing is, I have one account, this account has a single password and can be used to access a number of websites within the organization. So far so good, this is supported by 1password (ps love 1password, you guys save me so much stress and its a great product). And then, out of nowhere, each site connected to this one account manages to have a different username! (domain/username, first.last, first.last@email.com, ID number, just so many variations) Why anyone would let this happen within their organization I don't know, however this has been a problem for me across two universities, my current job (just started woo!) and one oddly inconvenient video game.
The main issues for me caused by this are, password reused flag in watchtower and having to change each version of this one login every time I am forced to changed my password by above mentioned organizations.
Unfortunately I do not have any suggested solutions beyond "let me have usernames connected to each web link on a password object" or "just let me link password objects together!" with the vague assumption that you guys will figure out how to do that nicely...
Anyway, thanks for taking the time to read my question, add me to the +1 list and I hope you have a wonderful day!
PS. If I ever come back and read this post again, you are doing great future me! I love you and hope you have a wonderful day too!

Hey @shley92822212! Thanks for taking the time to reach out to us about this. I'm afraid that there is not a great way to have multiple usernames linked to a login item. However, I can see why it would be beneficial, especially in your situation. I can leave some feedback about this on your behalf to our developers.
For now, I would recommend creating separate logins for the different websites. This makes the most sense, as the username and website URL's are different. This would be the best way to change/update info and to fill your credentials properly.
You can also link all these different logins so that you can quickly find and make changes to them. Here's how to do that: https://support.1password.com/link-items/
As for the flag via Watchtower, you can dismiss it by clicking on Ignore. Here's a short video: https://share.cleanshot.com/OvaUxz
I hope that can help a bit. Let us know if you have any other questions!
