importing attachments from LastPass Secure Notes to 1Password

LastPass allows file attachments on Secure Notes but apparently they are not imported into 1Password because 1Password doesn't support file attachments. Do any 1Password categories support file attachments?

    @drthomasho Every 1Password item type supports file attachments, if you use the version 8 client. Not only Secure Notes, but every item supports attaches.

    However, it might be the import function doesn't support file attaches at import time. But t's absolutely possible to attach a file to some imported item later manually. Edit the item, choose to add a new field, and choose file attachment.

    @Tertius3 is correct, the importer doesn't currently support attachments:

    Form Fills, one-time passwords, and attachments won’t be imported.

    However you can add attachments to items after you're done importing them by using one of the 1Password apps. You can download and install the 1Password app here: Download 1Password

    Once the app is installed you can attach a file to an existing item by following these steps:

    1. Open and unlock 1Password.
    2. Click on an item and then click Edit.
    3. Click add more.
    4. Click Attach a file.
    5. Select the file and then save the item.

    @Dave_1P The source you quoted for Form Fills, one-time passwords, and attachments won’t be imported. is from the Alternative section on 1Password.com that imports using a CSV file. The new Import feature added to the 1Password client app last week logs in to the LastPass account and does import attachments, right?

    That's correct, on January 27th we released an update to the 1Password apps:

    You can now directly import your data from LastPass without saving an unencrypted CSV to your computer.

    This allows you to now import attachments from LastPass: Move your data from LastPass to 1Password

    Our team worked very hard to get this feature out as soon as possible. I hope that it helps folks! 😊
