When is the iOS app being updated?
I know people have previously said "it's coming soon", "we've had issues", etc but it's been three months and we've not had a single update since November.
The whole point of unifying the apps was "a cleaner, simpler experience" and "more frequent updates". All we seem to have gotten from v8 has been a terrible UX, important features lost, a myriad of bugs, and a release cycle slower than for any previous version! I totally understand issues can occur along the way, I'm a senior web developer (and previously software developer) of 20+ years, but it feels like 1Password has devolved into a slow, buggy, piece of abandonware.
PS: I realize I may seem dramatic, however, a bug I reported (and provided a test case to the dev team) was to be included in the iOS release. It was first reported to them in early August on release day.
Note: Edited to fix a date issue.

I completely agree with you. What alternative solution would you recommend? I tried Bitwarden but was not happy at all so am still on 1P.

When can we get a PIN code option in 1password for iOS. If you can’t or won’t use faceID then it leaves this software as something that can’t be recommended. Very disappointing.

I'm in the same boat –– using bit warden on my iPhone now, but still hoping 1P will come through on this. I've been a loyal 1P user for many years (10+) and had the utmost respect for the company. I didn't like being forced to the subscription but accepted it, believing that perhaps it was necessary to continue delivering the high level of quality and service. But now we have a subscription for something that doesn't work, and all we're getting is the occasional post saying it's coming––we're working on it. There are obviously problems they can't solve, or they would have already. An interm fix (such has PIN) to mitigate the issue would help, but nothing. Not even transparency on why we're still suffering this six months later. 1P was originally a Mac product, so you'd think that full compatibility with Mac and iPhone would be the highest priority. All the extra features are nice, but only if the basic functions are working and can be accessed without complexity. We just need the basic function to work, and that is quick access to passwords. Please.

Hello folks,
The entire team hears you and we're as pained about the delay in updates as you are. There were a few different roadblocks that delayed updates and the team has been working very hard to resolve each of those roadblocks so that we can get the latest update into your hands. I can tell you from looking at our internal Slack conversations that many of us here at 1Password share your frustration (after all, we not only want to make 1Password the best that it can be for you but we use 1Password every single day ourselves), there is light at the end of the tunnel and we're just about ready to launch the next update.
The exciting news is that we're getting ready the biggest 1Password for iOS update ever. Not only are there numerous fixes to issues affecting things like Face ID and Touch ID but our developers have also listened carefully and implemented some of the most asked for features here on the community:
- Reorder fields and sections inside items
- PIN unlock on mobile
- Ability to search within any list of items
- Set a default vault for saved items
- And much much more!
There are so many improvements coming soon and we can't wait to share it with you all: Building a Better, More Useful 1Password
I want to apologize again for the frustration that the delay has caused. Better days are coming very soon. 😊
