1Password seems to be using the Chrome PW database.

Chrome says that 1password is managing the chrome password data base. I have told chrome not to fill in passwords. If I tell 1Password not to manage the chrome data base the app icon on my browser goes away. I even deleted all the passwords in chrome and they came back. I get the feeling it is using old passwords out of chrome.

  • Hello @dwwhittle,

    Thanks for your message.

1Password should use it's own database to fill passwords. In order for 1Password to manage your passwords, please ensure the extension is enabled. In Chrome, you can do so by entering chrome://extensions/ in to the address bar. Then follow this guide to, Turn off the built-in password manager in your browser, which explains how to set 1Password as the default password manager.

Once 1Password is set as the default password manager, are things working as expected?

Please let us know if you are seeing any further troubles, we'll be happy to help!
