1P, Passkeys and Apple
My reading of how passkeys work in the macOS and iOS environments is that private keys are generated on the Apple device, then stored on iCloud Keychain. Does this mean that people in the Apple ecosphere cannot use 1P to generate or store passkeys?

Hello @Newbie2018! 👋
I'm sorry for missing your question back in May.
Passkeys are stored in 1Password and protected using the same encryption and security that currently protects your passwords and other items. 1Password doesn't use iCloud Keychain to store or sync any of your items.
If you're interested, we recently introduced the ability to save and fill passkeys using the beta version of 1Password in the browser on macOS, Windows, and Linux: Save and Sign In with Passkeys Using 1Password In the Browser
We're also working hard to bring passkeys to iOS: Passkeys, iOS 17, and 1Password: A Sneak Peek at What’s Coming
Let me know if you have any other questions. 🙂
