I tried to share a vault from my family plan with my brother who own an own individual account. But he now got an invitation to create a new account. Most probably this would then be a second account for him, which is not what I wanted to achieve.
Is this not possible? Can vaults only be shared within the family.

  • Hey there @1pwdbeginner

Can vaults only be shared within the family[?]

Yes. Family members can share vaults with each other within the same 1Password Families account.

In your brother's case, I'd suggest adding him as a Guest on your 1Password Families account, so that you can choose which vault he can access, and what level of access he can have, whether that's read-only or read-write.

Share with guests in 1Password Families

(Also, your 1Password Families account includes 5 family members, so maybe your brother could "move in" to your 1Password Families account and wouldn't need his own individual account any longer. That would mean he wouldn't have two 1Password accounts.)

I hope that's useful for you, and I'll be here if you have any questions or need any help. :)
