"Emergency" fallback password in case of (physically) forced input, to open another vault
Hi,
has it been considered to implement an alternate "emergency" fallback password ?
The use case : in the event that one is physically forced to enter a password, it is possible to comply, but without actually opening the expected vault.
This gives the impression to the attacker that the vault has correctly been opened, and removes some pressure from the vault owner who can seemingly demonstrate compliance.
(Such a system is commonly used for emergency codewords in other settings).
That would be a terrific idea to protect oneself in adversarial environments such as certain countries (where it is against the law to not provide passwords when gently asked to) or malevolent actors.

Hello @Palijn! 👋
Thank you for the request! I've previously provided an explanation about why such a feature may not provide the protection that you're expecting, you can find it here: https://1password.community/discussion/comment/663176/#Comment_663176
Let me know if you have any questions. 🙂
