Safari extension opens a blank tab

This is happening across both of Mac computers. Latest Safari and 1Password extension and 1Password 8 mac app.

When I click in the 1P icon in Safari it opens a blank tab.

I tried to uninstall the extension, reset 1password, close safari, reboot my mac. Nothing seems to work in both computer.

Is this a bug with the latest extension update ?

btw: cleaning Safari history as suggested in another post didn't help
