How to disable private vaults OR set default vault to a specific vault for each user.
I have a family account and some of my family members seem to have a hard time keeping logins out of their private vaults; Our kids and parents in our situation. To this end, please tell me there is a way to disable private vaults for users or have their devices save passwords to a specific vault by default?
I do realize they can go into the apps and change their default vault, but that is too much of an ask for some users.
Please tell me there is a way to do this.

There is no ability to disable a Personal/Private vault. The best method is to set the default vault in both 1Password 8 and and 1Password in the browser as you mentioned. I'd be happy to file a feature request on your behalf. I can't make any promises though.

Hi.
I'd like to bring our young child into the 1password world! I was looking at a family plan, and had this exact question. In searching, I've noted the question has been brought up multiple times over the years - this being the most recent thread.
Has a feature request for disabling private vaults been filed, and is there any way for users to upvote?

Our feature requests are not user facing. I can included your interest in this feature. The best approach I can offer is to set the default vault.
In the browser:
- Right-click 1Password in the browser toolbar.
- Select Settings.
- Select Autofill & save.
- Select the desired vault.
Mac/Win:
- Open 1Password.
- Press Command (Control - Windows) and Comma to enter the 1Password settings.
In General set the desired vault.
If the option is not shown please ensure 1Password/1Password in the browser is unlocked.

@ag_tommy thanks for the reply and information. Unfortunately, this just is not a real solution to said issue. As parents, the admins should be able to gain access to child accounts and anything saved in them. Furthermore, as the paying owner of the account, the admins should have access to anything saved in them.
As much as it pains me to say it, our family is going to be looking for alternatives to this service as constantly reminding others to not use a default setting is just too cumbersome. All I would need is to have admins able to access private vault by default. Without that or a way to disable private vaults for years, one just ends up with a hodgepodge of shar d access to information that is barely functional at best.

I'm sorry you do not feel the above would help your situation. Private vaults extend across all our offerings. It is not something specific to the family offering. I have shared your thoughts with the team. Thank you for sharing them.
