Problem with multiple yubikeys

Hi,

On the 1password website, I have registered multiple Yubikeys. I have one USB-A yubikey, and another USB-C yubikey.

Unfortunately, I can only get the USB-A yubikey to work correctly. When I plugin the USB-C yubikey, I get an error message and the authentication fails. I've tried deleting and re-registering the USB-C yubikey, but that does not work. The USB-C yubikey authentication fails on both MacOS and Windows 11. The USB-A yubikey auth works on both MacOS and Windows 11.

Any suggestions as to how I can debug this?

  • Hi there @vridge

It'll be worth checking that your USB-C YubiKey has the right interfaces turned on, as a first measure. Here's what to do:

    1. Download the YubiKey Manager app: YubiKey Manager | Yubico.
    2. Insert your YubiKey and check the Interfaces tab.
    3. Unless you've been specifically instructed not to, make sure that all interfaces are turned on.

At the very least, FIDO U2F and FIDO2 must be turned on to work with 1Password.

Give that a try and let me know how you get on. I'll be here if you need further help. :)

    Hi,

Thanks for the suggestion @GreyM1P. I installed the YubiKey Manager on my Windows machine and verified that all of the interfaces were already enabled.

So, that doesn't seem to be the problem.

    Thanks,

    @vridge

I talked with Grey just now. They asked me to have you submit a diagnostic report. Here's how to do that:

    1. Open 1Password.
    2. Press Command and comma (Control and comma on Windows). The 1Password Preferences/Settings will open.
    3. Select Advanced.
    4. Select Send Diagnostics.
    5. Select Reveal to locate the report in your Downloads folder.

Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to support+forum@1password.com.
