Unable to Fill a Field by ID

I have a page that requires both a password and an additional PIN which is defined as:

I have added a field of type "password" to the login and named it pin:

It will not fill in. The user id and password fill, but not the pin.

I have tried clicking on the plugin icon in the extension bar, selecting the login and selecting autofill; same results.

The only thing that works is dragging the PIN field from the login to the field on the page.

It should autofill, shouldn't it? Have I set this up incorrectly? Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance,
JP

  • Hi @JohnnyVegas, thanks for reaching out!

I'm sorry that you're experiencing trouble when attempting to autofill. Can you share the URL for the webpage where you're experiencing this, so that I can take a closer look?

I look forward to hearing from you!

    David -
Can I message/email it to you?

It is a site that some friends and I use to coordinate an annual trip; it's not open to the public.

It's funny; you folks are using Vanilla Forums. Our trip site was using the open source version for years and I just moved to a different forum solution which is the site that is currently having issues filling in that PIN field.

You can absolutely share it via email! Since it's not publicly available, can you gather and include the page structure of the page in the email? Here's how you can do that:

    1. Navigate to the page you're trying to fill on.
    2. Right-click in the field you're encountering the problem in, then select 1Password - Password Manager > Help > Collect Page Structure.
    3. This should download a file ending with ".json". Please attach this file to the email message.

Feel free to contact us at support+forum@1password.com with a link to this thread. After sending the email, you’ll receive a reply from BitBot, our friendly robot assistant with a Support ID that looks something like [#ABC-12345-678]. Post that here, and I’ll be able to locate your message and make sure it’s gotten to the right place.

Thanks for confirming! I've located the ticket and a member of the Support team will be in touch with you as soon as possible. Let's continue the conversation over there, and I'll close this thread to prevent having the same conversation in two different places. 🙂
