Add ID.me to "Log In With" providers

The following thread was created over a year and a half ago....

Now the Social Security Administration site is offering logins using ID.me but I can't update my 1Password to reflect this. Can we please have this pushed through dev?

Optionally, I do like the suggestion that we can mark any 1Pass entry as a login provider so it appears as a login option for other entries.

  • Hello @xtremetoonz! 👋

Thank you for the request! I can certainly see how it would be helpful to have more sign-in providers, including ID.me, and I've filed a feature request on your behalf.

Our product team will consider the request for future updates to 1Password. 🙂

But that was the response January of 2023 and here we are with no improvement on this. These are US government websites that are using ID.me, it's not an off the wall request. Can you provide some additional information from the dev team on when this update can be expected?

Thanks for the reply. The product team continually reviews feature requests to decide which features are placed into development next but I don't have any specific information to share. You'll see a note in our release notes when, and if, ID.me or custom sign-in providers are added to 1Password: 1Password Releases

For the time being, you can add a tag to document that you're using ID.me to login to a specific website like this:

This is what I do currently for websites where I'm using a sign-in with provider that isn't currently supported by 1Password.
