1Password Password Generator Website - https://1password.com/password-generator

When you use this site...

Instead of using the horizontal slider to change the character length of the generated password, you double-click on the character length number to change the character length from the default of 20 to something like 15 or 33 your keystroke attempts are immediately corrected to start with "8" and there is no ability to reset the value back to some character length < 80 unless you use the slider to "reset" the character length

This behavior occurs in Chrome, Firefox and Edge Browsers

  • Hello, @cswannack. Thank you for reaching out. I'm sorry about the issue on https://1password.com/password-generator.

I was able to recreate the behaviour on my end. I created an issue for our development team for further investigation. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Let me know if there's anything else I can assist you with.

I have also been experiencing this issue which is still unresolved several months after being reported.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience. I've taken a look and I see that the issue is still open in our developer's backlog.

For the time being I recommend using the horizontal slider rather than entering the characters in manually when using the password generator on our website. Alternatively, you can use the password generator in the browser extension which uses a different code base:

Get to know 1Password in your browser
