Unable to delete a person from Family account

I am a new user to 1Password. Downloaded to computer yesterday 17AUG24.
After setting up my account and getting familiar with it was ready to invite my wife to share in the ease of 1Password. When she received her invite she tried setting up using her Iphone. When it came time to download the PDF that contained her verification code, she pressed download and nothing was downloaded (Software issue?). Now I have her email set up but she is unable to log in, without the verification code. I am now past that as I have thrown in the towel on trying to recover from that and just want to delete her from "Our Family" and sign her up with a different email. But I am unable to delete a family member. Without being able to do this I am assuming that this will take up one of the 5 members that I can use. I have a family of 5 so I need to somehow get this family member removed from my account. There is however no way that I can find to do this. If I click on "Our Family", select manage accounts then choose Our Family (instead of the two boxes, Set Up Another Device, and Add an Account) then select People her name shows up with the setting icon next to it. If I click on the settings icon, then select View Details... (Only option) it takes me a view where I can see what vaults she is allowed to see but can do nothing further there.
Would love some assistance as I am missing something.

    Add and remove family members

    1. Click People in the sidebar.
    2. Click the name of the person you want to remove.
    3. On their details page, click More Actions and choose Delete.

If you delete her you can reuse the same email address.

If I click on "Our Family", select manage accounts then choose Our Family (instead of the two boxes, Set Up Another Device, and Add an Account)

This sounds as if you are using the application. Please ensure you access 1Password.com and perform the actions there.

That makes a lot of sense. I had read other posts on clicking "people" on the side bar, and figured I had a later revision that took that side bar away. Had not thought about logging in on the website, or that that would be different. Good catch Ill try that when I get home.
    Thanks for the quick reply!!

There is no need to be embarrassed. We all (and by all I mean myself, too) have been there done that. Sometimes we're so set on the goal we miss things like that. Seriously don't worry about it. We're glad to have you all as part of the 1Password family.

The initial problem is that you cannot find the downloaded pdf, correct? If she is on an iPhone, and is using Safari browser, check the ‘Files’ app. That’s where the downloaded pdf should be.

  • Thanks for bring up an excellent point debstar73!
