MacOS Safari desktop extension goes into endless login loop
Recently, I've been unable to unlock 1Password from the MacOS Safari browser extension. Attempting to do so causes 1P to go into an endless loop of prompting me to log in, even after the correct master password has been entered. At this stage, the only way I can successfully unlock 1P in order to use autofill in the browser is to launch the desktop app itself and unlock it from there, and that seems to communicate to the browser extension successfully that 1P is unlocked. Once 1Password is unlocked, everything in the browser extension seems to work as expected.
In my desktop app settings, 1P is connected with Safari, and in the desktop extension settings, the extension is integrated with the browser.
I understand that you're working with the Safari team to improve integration with Safari, but I'm wondering if there's a solution to this in the meantime, especially since this wasn't an issue until recently?

OS Version: MacOS 13.7.1 (22H221)
Browser: Safari 18.1.1

The
Keep 1Password in the menu bar
settings option was not enabled. Enabling it seems to resolve this issue for me. Thank you. - kevin_li

Hi craven,
According to your description, it seems to be a known issue that the 1Password desktop app cannot run properly in the background if the app icon is not pinned in the top menu bar.
Therefore, can you open the 1Password desktop app
Settings
>General
, and check if theKeep 1Password in the menu bar
option is selected:
