Autosubmit Feature Request: option to not automatically UNtick "Remember me"

Hey there!

When logging on Strava.com, there is a behavior that annoy me for a while now: 1Password successfully auto submit the login form but in the same time, it automatically unchecks the "Remember me" checkbox.

I assume that could be for safety reason (not sure about that tough). But, in that case, I would love being able to, for example, flag this website as safe enough to don't allow 1Password to automatically uncheck this option.

Because that way, I obviously need to login anytime I visit that website.

Best regards and thank you for the great product!

PS : I've found these two open topic, related to that feature but it seems to be a different "problem":

  • Hello, @GxiGloN. Thank you for writing in. I appreciate the kind words about 1Password. 🙂

I've done some testing on my end but haven't been able to recreate the same behaviour. After selecting my suggested Login item on Strava.com, the auto-submit feature does not uncheck the Remember me box after signing in. After that, I restarted my browser, navigated back to Strava.com, and was still signed in.

Could you please provide more specific information about the issue you are experiencing? Are you noticing that the box becomes unchecked just before you sign in, or are you finding that you are signed out after restarting your browser?

In the meantime, please create a new Login item and check if the same behaviour occurs.

    1. Open and unlock the 1Password desktop app.
    2. Click + New Item > Login.
    3. Enter your Starva credentials and the website URL: https://www.strava.com
    4. Click Save.

After that, navigate to the website and sign in with the new Login item. Let me know how that goes.

    Thanks for your answer EvonG1P!

So first, I was noticing that the box becomes unchecked when I select my credential from the 1Password suggestions. By default, the "Remember me" checkbox is checked:

I've deleted my Strava credential in 1Password and I've created a new one.
Now, the unwanted behavior does not occur anymore :)

But, I've notice another issue. On my Android device (Pixel 7), I logged out from my Strava app. And I tried to login again, using the new credential. This new credential was suggested to me. But clicking on it has no effect. Clicking on the button "Open 1Password" next to this suggestion has no effect either. No more luck by clicking on the "1Password" logo on the right.

I cleaned the Strava app cache. I relaunched the app. I relaunched the 1Password app. I made sure my Strava credential was up to date in the 1Password app. I retry to login and same issue: selecting the suggestion (or clicking the "Open 1Password" button) had no effect from the Strava app.

I uninstalled the Strava app. Reinstalled it. Tried again. With no more luck.

The main difference I can notice between the old and the new credential is that before, both Strava and Garmin apps were linked to the credential. They are not anymore:

Despite this new problem, I think we can close this topic as long as my initial problem is now "solved" :)

  • @GxiGloN,

You're welcome. I'm glad that creating a new Login item resolved the first issue.

Regarding the Android app, I've encountered a different problem on my pixel device running Android 15. The missing Linked apps from the new Login item don't appear to be the issue. The Open 1Password button or suggestions do not appear above my keyboard.

I've filed an issue for our development team for further investigation and added you as an affected user. In the meantime, I recommend copying and pasting your credentials from the 1Password app into the Login fields. I realize this may not be ideal, and I apologize for any interruption in your workflow.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Yeah, I just copied/pasted my credential, that's fine :)

Hopefully the other issue will be fixed in a near future :)

Have a good one and thanks for your assistance!

  • You're very welcome, @GxiGloN. You have a good one as well! 🙂
