Can't control autofill order in Chrome extension (Solved)
There's a few websites where I have numerous various logins. Ideally I'd like to be able to exactly control their order in the autofill.
I've read previous posts that they should be alphabetical but they aren't. For example these entries (1st screenshot), which when searched for in the main 1Password desktop app for Windows, do show up as Alphabetical correctly when sorting by "Title".
But then in the autofill, for some reason the '3' one appears at the top. (2nd screenshot)
I tried renaming the '2' one to replace the '2' with an exclamation point and that moved up (not shown), so basically it seems in alphabetical order except the '3' one is just being forced to the top for some reason.
It's not a favorite and it's not the most recently edited one. How is the order determined?
EDIT: Actually I think I figured out the reason the '3' one was appearing first. It seems to have to do with the matching of the login URL.
In the above examples, Microsoft apparently currently uses a login url of "microsoftonline.com" (at least in some places), and my '3' entry is the newest account has that as the value for the 'website' field. The other login entries are older and have other URLs that Microsoft used to use (or just use elsewhere) like "account.live.com" or just "microsoft.com". (Behind the scenes I know there's a map of 'associated' URLs somewhere so they still show up in the autofill)
When I added 'https://microsoftonline.com' as an additional 'website' field in the rest of the entries, now they all show up in the expected order. So it seems that it always considers the URL match for the order before alphabetical.
So maybe perhaps adding some kind of 'sort by' thing for the autofill, where there could be options like 'Alphabetical', 'Relevance' (which would be like how it is now), "most recent", stuff like that. Then you could have tooltips to better describe each one.
