2FA authentication on iPad
I've been setting up a new (for me) iPad. In this case it's a mini 5. I start using the 1PW app (after migration from previous device). I repeatedly get the message that anything I edit won't be synced to other devices until I complete 2FA for the my-family-name.1password.com account.
Now here's the problem. None of the forms for completing the 2FA make it remotely clear what's involved. It mentions an authentication code multiple times, but says zip about where the code comes from. So I spent fruitless hours going in endless circles trying to figure out what code I was looking for. In the absence of any clues I decided it must mean the account security key. That of course was rejected. Long story short, I eventually discovered it means the six-digit code from the authenticator app (which I had completely forgotten about, having not had to use it since whenever it was I set it up - years ago).
So my plea to the devs ... Please edit the forms in the mobile requesting the 2FA code, so they spell out clearly which code is needed from which source. Thanks.8.10.56

Hello @Lance Lawton! 👋
I'm sorry that you ran into issues when setting 1Password on a new iPad. If you're chosen to setup two-factor authentication for your 1Password account (which is optional) then it's important to always know where your one-time password is stored so that you don't get locked out of your account: Turn on two-factor authentication for your 1Password account
That being said, I can definitely see how a more descriptive message and steps on what to do if you don't remember what a "two-factor authentication code is" would be very helpful and I've shared your feedback with the team internally. Thank you for helping us make 1Password better for everyone. 🙂
