2FA offers code for wrong user

My partner and I both use 1Password and 2FA to log into our credit union account using the latter's app on my iPhone. When I try to get my auth code, 1Password offers only the code for my partner's login. There doesn't seem to be a way to select a different login -- unless I go into 1Password, find my login, and copy and paste the code.

Conversely, when my partner logs in, she gets her code and doesn't have to copy and paste. Both of our 1Password login entries are favorites, fwiw.

How can I log in as easily as she does? Is there no way to tell/persuade/nudge 1Password to use my login entry to find the code instead of offering only the code for my partner (which seems ridiculous and inexplicable)?

  • Hello @siplhium! 👋

I'm sorry that 1Password isn't offering the correct one-time password when you sign into your credit union account. So that I can better understand the situation, can you tell me the following:

    1. If you open the main 1Password app and search for your credit union login, do you see multiple login items? Or multiple one-time passwords saved?
    2. Is your wife's login for her credit union account saved in your 1Password account? Or in a shared vault? Or are both of you using the same 1Password account?

I look forward to hearing from you.

    Hi Dave,

    1. There is only one login item for my login, and one login item for my wife. And one one-time password for each login.
    2. We use a shared vault in the same ("family") 1Password account.
