Failed Backup Notifications
Version 4 is beautiful. Congratulations! Had a big security audit, you'd be so proud haha
Despite syncing fine, I'm getting a string of Failed Backup notifications attempting to backup to DropBox?
(a) I own the latest iOS version (1x iPhone) and that backs up to BOTH iCloud and Dropbox. I noticed that 1Password 4 for Mac solely syncs to DropBox and wondering if there is something funky happening due to this? Whilst writing this, I just tapped the sync button on my phone and five mins later got another failure notification on my Mac, so it appears to be related?
(b) Another reason may be that I just realised I have two passwords. Meaning that when I setup the iOS app it asked me to setup a password and I have a slight variation. Note, I did previously merge two databases together using the guide Khad gave me (see my old discussion), but I've never sorted out the change in password. I realise your product is called 1Password, I have remarkably appeared to have strayed to a '2Password' variant :) I know, fix me.
If you could sort my head out that would be great! :) Steve

Everyone in our house is getting the same backup failed notifications backing up to iCloud. Previous Dropbox + iCloud users using the latest build on all iOS devices and Macs.

Hello, the same here! I can't backup. The notification center informed, that there was an error. I'm syncing with dropbox only.

I am also getting numerous "Backup Failed" notifications. They appear periodically without any user intervention, and one also appears whenever I manually initiate a backup via File > Backup. I am not syncing with Dropbox - I'm pretty sure my sync settings are whatever the default is (it's syncing to a directory in ~/Library/Containers/com.agilebits...).
The error code in the notifications is 1206.

I am also getting error 1206 notifications in Notification Center. I just have Dropbox sync enabled.

Hi guys,
A couple of users confirmed that rebooting fixed the problem. Can you guys do that and let us know if it does fix it?

Hi Mike. Rebooting did indeed fix the issue. Thanks!

Hi Mike. Reboot fixed it. I'm so used to not rebooting these days that I forgot the classic 'turn it off and back on again'. Still, it's a good thread for someone with similar issues, to try this before doing anything else. Thanks!

I had a look for an answer to my '2Password' confusion and found this article: How secure is syncing
Formats and unlocking
1Password on iOS uses a different data format from the data file format used by 1Password for Mac and 1Password for Windows. This allows you to have a different master password on your iOS device from the one on your Mac or PC. When you set up the iPhone application it creates two new encryption keys for performing AES encryption. One key is used for items protected with the unlock code and the other key is used for items protected by the master password. In addition to allowing for master passwords that are easier to type on different devices, the data format used on iOS is more appropriate for an operating system that is not designed for heavy disk activity.
I think that answers my question? I was just confused at how there was still only one '1Password.agilekeychain' but I realise there is a whole lot of stuff going on in there. I think its a case of thoroughly reading the documentation, FAQs and blog articles to get a good grounding, then these things make sense.

Hi guys,
As it turns out, that rebooting isn't needed, Just opening 1Password app and going to the Help Menu > Troubleshooting > Restart 1Password Mini will fix this. So for those of you who are seeing this problem, don't reboot, just restart 1Password mini and that'll fix the issue.
@polygon, you're looking at the old 1Password 3 for iOS docs, it doesn't work like that anymore in the 4th version. You can find the info here: http://learn.agilebits.com/1Password4/Security/ as both 1Password 4 for iOS and Mac share almost the same codebase.

Hi Mike,
I've had no issues since, so it's all good. Very happy.
I purposely posted the 1Password 3 document because of the origin of my '2Password' situation, which began in 1Password 3, if that makes sense? I'm assuming this is a dumb question, but does this mean in order to better sync and use the same master password between the two, I should delete the iOS app, reload, sync back to dropbox and it would ask me then for my master password? (Syncing to my 1Password 4 for Mac)

Hi, @polygon. Please check your Messages inbox regarding your '2Password' situation. Makes sense to me. :)

No matter what I've done, I receive this error message. I am tired of quitting 1Password Mini. Yes, it fixes the problem but only temporarily. To me, it's not fixed. :(

Hi Max,
I would like to apologize for the delay in responding to you here but we have been a bit overwhelmed since the launch of 1Password 4 for Mac. We're all working hard and putting in extra hours to get back to our usual snappy responses and we really appreciate your patience.
I'm sorry to hear that you're still seeing this issue. In most cases, quitting the Mini only needs to happen once to solve the issue. Could you please confirm that you are on the latest version of 1Password 4?

New to thread, but am also having this problem. Am on the latest version of 1Password 4, and have tried both the reboot and the restart 1Password Mini - and the error keeps recurring.

Hi, @craigheimark.
I'm sorry you're having trouble with 1Password backups. Have they ever been working automatically and if you create one manually using File > Backup does that work correctly?
So we can check if something is interfering with the backups please send a Diagnostics Report from your Mac where you're having this problem; instructions are here:
Sending us your Diagnostics Report to help us help you!
Please do not post your Diagnostics Report in the forum, but do include a link to this topic and your forum username in the email so we can "connect the dots" when we receive it. A quick comment here mentioning that you've sent it would also be helpful. Thanks in advance!
