Basic question on syncing with iOS device

After I say I want to sync my Mac with dropbox and then go into my dropbox folder on my iPad or iPhone and try to use 1Password, it says a file is missing. However, I can look at my passwords if I go to dropbox.com. Question: do I need to purchase 1Password for iOS to get the sync to work on my iPad or iPhone? I am confused about how sync works and how to use 1Password on iPhone/iPad. Help

If you want direct syncing to your iDevices, yes, you will need to purchase that from the App Store. It's pretty slick how that works, so I recommend it.

However, if you want to avoid the expense, you can visit your account on the Dropbox web site using a web browser, but not the Dropbox app. Open the 1Password folder. Inside you will find an HTML file. Open that and you will be prompted for your password. From there you will have access to your data. That way of doing it is called 1PasswordAnywhere. It only works with Dropbox, not with iCloud.
