Synchronization Issue [resolved Dropbox syncing issue]
Hi,
I discovered yesterday that my 1Password instances were not synching. I was using dropbox (flawlessly, since you introduced that feature) and noted the issues there, so I switched to iCloud as suggested.
Here was the sequence:
Laptop 1: Changed from Dropbox to iCloud. (wait a couple of minutes)
Laptop 2: Changed from Dropbox to iCloud. (it said it found existing iCloud data and was merging)
(new/update items specific to each laptop not seen on each other)
iPhone 1: Changed from Dropbox to iCloud. (no notice, it appears to see data from Laptop 2, but later tests show no updates flowing)
iPad 1: Changed from Dropbox to iCloud. (no notice and quite a delay before the sync was done, doesn't appear to see data from either laptop and new items from iPad not seen on either laptop, iPhone, and visa versa.
No errors reported that I can see - just devices apparently synching with themselves most of the time.
Suggestions welcome! This is pretty scary.

I apologize for not responding here sooner about your issue with 1Password data not syncing with iCloud when it appears to be. Is there any difference with it since you've reported this? And which versions of 1Password and OS X are you running?
iCloud syncing can be fickle in general. There's basically no control over when the syncing happens. When 1Password "syncs" with iCloud it writes data to a folder, then Apple's iCloud processes handle the sync to iCloud. We've seen it take anywhere from seconds to weeks.
There tends to be more control over Dropbox syncing issues, including bugs affecting 1Password. Would you consider returning to Dropbox syncing?
Of course we'll do everything possible to help get iCloud syncing working smoothly for you.

Just a quick note that via an offline email conversation shortly after I posted this, an update to 1Password restored the syncing to Dropbox, which was preferred by me anyways, and all was well. I forgot that I never followed up here, but you folks did and I thank you. - dave
