Unable to Validate
I am attempting to install the latest update from 4.1.1 to 4.1.3 (in an Admin account) and have now given up. Keep getting told that validation failed! Why is this pls? Mac OS 10.9.1 Intel Core 2 Duo 2.53g 4GB DDR3
I have recently installed the iOS vn on my wife's iPhone 3G also - great s/w!

Yep... same here.
Downloads from the automatic update, then says 'unable to validate' and a 'try again' button....
Tried three times then gave up.

Go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General and check your preference for Allow applications download from:.
You should have Mac App Store and identified developers or Anywhere checked to use 1Password directly from AgileBits.
If you didn't have one of those two options selected, change it and try installing the update again.
If that isn't the problem, you could try re-downloading 1Password from the AgileBits website and manually installing it. https://agilebits.com/downloads
Hope that helps! :)

Yay! Thank you that did it.

Thank you, JasperP. I stumbled upon this post because I had the same issue. For days.
Instead of just the blanket "validation failed" maybe you can put a message that links to a knowledge base article or instructs the user what to do, like you did above. Cheers.0 -
I am on 4.1.1, and getting notifications that 4.1.3 is now available.
When I try to install, I get a Validation failed message…
Anyone else getting this? What to do?

Hi, @JAFairweather.
I've merged your topic with a similar one with a suggestion from JasperP (post #3) to resolve this. I hope that helps. :)

That fixed it - thanks. I agree that I/we need something a little more intuitive for the the ill-educated user like myself!

Thanks SJK that worked. This is very different experience than other packages I install. Typically they throw up the warning that the app isn't trusted, and then I know to jump over to the Security and Privacy settings...

Thanks for letting me know that worked for you, @JAFairweather.
We'll see what can be done to make 1Password Updater smarter about handling this condition.
