Latest App Store version broke 1Password

The mini launcher still works as well as the browser integration.

But launching the main app just shows the top menu bar with all items grated out. Nothing else appears (the password prompt is not there). This is pretty serious.

Have you restarted the machine since installing the update?

    Fixed.

Hello, for the sake of closing this issue I wiped the application (using CleanMyMac..) and had it reinstalled by the App Store and its working fine now.

    Thanks for answering Stephen :-)

I'm glad to hear you've resolved the problem with the 1P4 main app, @DunderXIII.

Note that using uninstaller/cleaner tools to remove 1Password files isn't recommended because they're a known culprit of unintended removal of required data and backups. For example:

Unfortunately, I used Hazel and allowed it to delete the library files, Sure enough, all of my login passwords are gone. Even my dropbox files are empty.

It sounds like you had no issues using CleanMyMac, yet someone else might accidentally lose their 1Password data with it.

You are totally right, though I'm a software engineer and did a full verification of what files were removed as wells backing up the files prior, this is something that people should be wary about for sure. Note that I use a cleaner because I'm lazy :-) Also why I use a Mac at home.

Note that dropbox has a versioning system, so it might be possible to recover it from cache (separate issue!! :-) I don't know about it).

    Thanks!

    Hi, @DunderXIII.

And I have Hazel's App Sweep enabled. :)

No doubt tools like this can be both useful and harmful.

I suggested the possibility of using Dropbox versioning to restore a 1Password keychain but was fuzzy on the details: here.

    @meghanclare mentioned:

I did find the old keychain file in Dropbox (thanks, Packrat)

So there's at least that success story. :)
