1Password 4 for Mac won't save updates
Any time I try to edit an existing record, my change is reverted almost immediately. I've tried several different entries and several different fields. I can make changes but they don't save - the field reverts back to it's previous value every time.

Hi, @dsgreene713.
I'm sorry you're having trouble with 1P4 not saving changes you're making. Is this happening after editing any items in the main 1P4 app? Which versions of 1P4 and OS X are you running? Thanks in advance for additional information to help us understand and fix the problem.

Please try disabling any sync so everything stays on the computer. Does it work now? Please also answer sjk's questions.

Sorry, I didn't get an email that you both had responded. Yes, when I disable sync it now saves correctly. I'm using 1Password Version 4.1.2 (412009) running on Mavericks.

So how do I fix this? Is it because I've got more than 1 computer accessing the keychain on dropbox? The second I turn synching back on it reverts my changes. I also updated my other Mac to use the latest version but that didn't seem to help.

Hi, @dsgreene713.
I'm sorry you're still having trouble with item changes apparently being overwritten when syncing. Please check that all of your systems/devices currently syncing 1Password data with each other have the same date/time. If they don't that's a possible reason for the problem you're having.
About not receiving email after our earlier responses, you may want to check/adjust your forum notifications:
Go to your Profile, select Edit Profile in the menu around the top right corner:
Or try this Edit Profile link. Then select Notification Preferences in the left sidebar. Make changes and press
SAVE PREFERENCES
at the bottom of the page.I hope that helps! :)

Where does 1password store it's keychain when not syncing? There must be a local file on each computer where it's read/writing everything.

Hi, @dsgreene713.
That's correct; there is local storage of your 1Password 4 data. As @Megan explained:
Your complete keychain database is stored in both the local and the sync store. Storing your data in 2 places is a new feature in 1Password 4, and it was implemented as an extra level of protection for users who chose to sync their data to an external solution. In 1Password 3, if you would accidentally delete your keychain file in Dropbox, you were essentially deleting your database (and would have to restore from a backup). Now in 1Password 4, your data is stored locally as well. If you delete your keychain file in Dropbox, or if Dropbox experiences maintenance issues and is not available for a period of time (as happened this past weekend), you can still access your database.
For some security-related context also see her recent reply: here
Specific folders where the 1P4 database is locally stored are:
AgileBits store version (including beta)
~/Library/Application Support/1Password 4/Data
Mac App Store version
~/Library/Containers/2BUA8C4S2C.com.agilebits.onepassword-osx-helper/Data/Library/Data
It's best not to go in there without a specific reason and just let 1P4 manage it. And it's not the place to store 1Password keychains. :)
