Loading 1Password onto a second MacBook Pro running OS/X version 10.8.5.

Install proceeds normally - unzip, copy to Applications, launch.

Then, rather than prompting me for an existing account or to start a new one, the little spining wheel spins, and spins and eventually, two pop-up windows appear, both with the same message:

1Password failed to connect to 1Password mini
Please quit 1Password and start it again.

Of, course, re-starting it generates the same error.

Tried deleting from Applications, just unzipping and runing, and allowing the application to copy itself to Applications - same result.

    Hi, Philip.

I'm sorry you're having (or had?) trouble running 1Password after installing it on your second MacBook Pro. Did you resolve the issue and prepend "Fixed - " to this forum topic title? If you're still having a problem please give this a try:

With 1P4 running, type Control-Command-Q to Quit 1Password and 1Password mini, then relaunch 1P4 and see if it runs okay. If that doesn't help restart your system and see if 1P4 runs okay after that.

If there's anything more I can help you with please let me know. Thanks!
