Mac+Windows Family License - Are Password Databases Unique?

I am interested in the Mac+Windows family license. It’s not clear if each person can keep their own unique database of passwords with this bundle or whether there are five platform licenses all sharing the same database of passwords.

Can anyone clarify?

Thanks.

    Hi @Feashman,

Everyone can use their own separate 1Password database. :)

Glad @JasperP was able to answer your question, @Feashman.

1Password doesn't support simultaneous usage with a single database so it must be unique for each user to work as intended. :)

  • Hi folks,

I just wanted to add here that a family license allows up to five family members in the same household to use 1Password on as many devices of the purchased platform as they wish. A single user license allows one individual to use 1Password on as many devices of the purchased platform as they wish.

License type doesn't affect the way the product works in any way. A single user license and a family license will function exactly the same way from a technical perspective.

Each person can have their own unique data set as long as they either A) have their own computer or B) have a separate user account on the same computer.

    Thanks!

So each person can have their own unique password to access their unique data set?

    That's correct, @DeeRay.

Each person using 1Password should definitely have their own unique strong, memorable Master Password for accessing their data. That linked article discusses using Diceware for creating those passwords.
