there used to be an easy way to disable animation in the browser, suddenly, animations are back (and incredibly annoying) and there is seemingly no way to get rid of them.

please advise.

    In 1Password 4 Preferences, click on the Browser tab and uncheck the option to animate form filling.

    I'm seeing this regression as well. It doesn't appear that unchecking "Animate form filling" works anymore.

    (I agree that the form-fill animations are incredibly annoying...and SLOW!)

    When the checkbox is checked, it appears that the animation is more pronounced. It looks like the fields zoom in, but when the checkbox is unchecked, it still fills each form one-by-one slowly, which is undesirable. Non-animated form-fills used to be instant across all fields at once. Please bring this back.

    Hi @rmm5t,

    I'm sorry to hear that you're finding animations bothersome right now. Could you tell me which version of 1Password you are currently using?

    @Megan I'm using Version 4.1.2 (412009)

    It's not just that I just find the animations bothersome. It's that I can't turn them completely off. :-)

    Hi @rmm5t,

    Thanks for confirming that for me! I did some testing on 4.1.2, and I can confirm that fields are filling one at a time with the animations disabled. This is, however, the designed behaviour. 1Password does this intentionally to mimic what a user would do if they were filling in the form fields manually. Some sites will try and do some masking or processing of fields while the form is getting filled out: filling both fields at the same time could cause errors.

    Regarding the speed issue you mention, I've spoken with our developers and they tell me there are some speed improvements in the latest beta version of the 1Password extension. If you'd like to try it out, head on over to https://agilebits.com/browsers/index.html and select 'Enable betas'. Please remember that because this extension is a beta, there might be a few unpolished details, but I am curious to see if it helps with the slowness you are seeing. :)
