Utilization of 1Password 4 across multiple Macs and iOS devices
Researching password security software options, I've read a lot of good stuff about 1Password4 for Mac. One key question on which I'm still not entirely clear is whether and how this package works across multiple Macs and iOS devices.
In our family, between my wife and I, we have two Macs (running Mavericks OS), two iPhones (both on iOS7), and three iPads (two on iOS7, one an iPad1 running on iOS 5), all using the same iCloud account and Apple id.
If I purchase 1Password 4 for Mac, will we get full synchronization and functionality across all of these platforms and devices? Are there any circumstances in which we'd have to purchase additional packages/licences for the second Mac or for the iOS devices? Finally, am I correct in assuming we'd be best advised to purchase this product through the Apple App Store?

To give brief answers to your questions:
- In order to synchronise between 1P4 for OS X and iOS devices you would also have to buy 1P4 for iOS.
- If you buy 1P4 from the Mac App Store you can run it on any machine that uses the same Apple ID.
- If you buy 1P4 for OS X from the AgileBits store there is an option to buy a family licence: see this page for details of the AgileBits store licences generally.
- There is little difference between the Mac App Store and the AgileBits store versions—save that sync via iCloud is officially supported only by the Mac App Store version (although it currently works also with the AgileBits store version too). AgileBits store versions are released rather more quickly because they don't have go through Apple's approval process.
I hope this is some help to you.

I purchased a Family license from your web store for me and my spouse.
We would like to have separate his/hers master passwords and 1P4 files — we cannot share work-related passwords because we both have access to proprietary data from our (separate) employers.
Is there a way to access these separate 1P4 instances on the single user account of the Mac that we share at home? Or is the only way to do this to use 1P4 from within separate OS X accounts on that machine?

Hi @Semilog,
Thanks so much for your support of 1Password! Now, because of the way 1Password is set up, with the primary vault allowing access to all your secondary vaults I think the best solution here is to use two separate user accounts on the same computer. You can then create a shared secondary vault with all your home details and shared Logins.
I'm sorry I don't have a better answer for you here, if you'd like some more specific instructions on how to set this up, please let me know!
