Only using Wifi syncing.
Hi,
I have a number of computers and iOS devices all on the same network, and was wondering two things re wifi syncing.
First is there any way to automate the wifi syncing between the mac version and iOS devices? At the moment I have to open the main app and then go through the app to sync. Is there a way so that if my device is open and the app running it will automatically sync and update the files. Or so it can automatically sync as soon as it is opened.
Secondly is there a way to do this between macs locally without needing to have any file on the cloud, which represents a security risk of its own.
Thanks

Hi @Amnesia,

At this point Wi-Fi sync is a manual process. We would love to make it more automatic in the future, but the trick comes in ensuring that it is secure. :)

To sync between two Macs, you can either use your iOS devices and Wi-Fi sync from one to the other, or you could consider a solution like Folder Sync, if you have a home network set up.
Now, to your point about the security risks of storing your data in the cloud. First of all, just let me say that I am so glad you are thinking strongly about the security of your data - thats what we like to see!
I do want to tell you a little bit about why we are very confident about storing 1Password data in the cloud. Your data file is encrypted with an exceedingly secure encryption algorithm called AES. Even if someone were to acquire a copy of your 1Password data file, it would be extremely difficult (approaching impossible in a human lifetime) for them to actually gain access to your passwords without your Master Password. In short, we believe it is just as secure as having the data on your laptop. To learn more about cloud data security, have a read through the following article.

Also, you can check out our blog for many more articles that go into the nitty gritty math behind what makes 1Password so secure.

Of course, all that being said, it is completely your choice how you want to sync your data. Please do let me know if you have any further questions! :)
