Dropbox Sync Not Working (1Password 4.2.2 & 1Password for iPhone 4.3.2

[MacBookPro11.2, OS 10.9.2; iPhone 5, iOS 7.1. As this is a sync issue between those devices, I didn't know whether to post here or in the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch category.]

I created two Logins yesterday on my Mac, but they haven't appeared on my iPhone. I've done several manually prompted syncs on the iPhone and they complete without issue, but (at least) those two Logins don't appear on my iPhone. (Don't know if there are other Logins or Secure Notes that, likewise, aren't on the iPhone.) In 1Password on my Mac->Preferences->Sync->Dropbox, it shows "Dropbox app is installed" and "Dropbox app is running". In my Dropbox folder, there still is the 1Password folder which contains (just) the 1Password.agilekeychain--and both the folder and that file are badged with the checkmark. (So far, no other problems noted using Dropbox for other purposes.)

Suggestions, please.

David

    Hi David @dgkanter,

I'm sorry you're having some trouble with Dropbox syncing in 1Password between your Mac and at least your iPhone. It sounds like syncing may have been disabled on your Mac and you simply need to reenable it. First, if you're using Multiple Vaults make sure you've selected the correct one to be syncing with.

In 1Password on my Mac->Preferences->Sync->Dropbox, it shows "Dropbox app is installed" and "Dropbox app is running".

Is this all that you're seeing there?

In that case you want to enable Dropbox syncing again. Click choose…, open your Dropbox folder where the 1Password.agilekeychain is, and then you'll see a screen like this showing the keychain that syncing will be using:

Click Continue if that's correct and then you'll see a screen like this showing that syncing is configured with that keychain:

Do some checking and testing to make sure syncing is working properly again.

If that's not the problem or if those steps don't fix it please let us know and we'll suggest what to do next. Thanks!

Thanks, sjk. That seemed to have done what was needed. Much appreciated. Both those two earlier new logins are now sync'd to my iPhone as well as one that I had revised on my Mac this morning.

I had not previously chosen a "vault" nor, it seems, realized that I now had to do that "Choose" operation to identify my .agilekeychain file. Might that have been something that was introduced in a recent update and there had been an instruction to do so that I missed? Or, perhaps, should have been seamlessly accomplished without my intervention, but--in my case--didn't? Or is it "none of the above"?

    David

  • Hi David,

On behalf of @sjk, you're welcome.

I'm not sure exactly what happened in your case, but you do need to choose your Dropbox folder/vault location manually.

Please let us know if you have any other questions. :)
