Frustrations of trying to change password
I've just been trying to change my Dropbox password. The obvious place to do this is on the Dropbox website, and using the Chrome context menu to generate and add new password. Then click Yes when it asks to update it.
But my old password is 50 characters long, and the context menu widget only generates passwords 30 characters long. (Why on earth is this?)
So I was using the 1Password application to generate a long new password by editing my Dropbox login.
The failings started when I'd entered my old password into the change password dialogue, switched back to 1Password, generated a new password, clicked save (to copy new password to clipboard), and returned to Chrome. The dialogue box had disappeared.
So I click "change password" again, get a new dialogue box. But now 1Password has the new password stored! No problem, I think, I'll use the previous passwords feature. But no amount of clicking on Copy for my old password will actually copy it to the clipboard! I can reveal it, but not copy it.
So now I'm in limbo. Can't copy my old password to change it on Dropbox, but have a new password stored in 1Password!
And as I write this, I thought "I wonder if there's an undo". Lo and behold: Edit, Undo Paste. 1Password crashes.
I've now restarted 1Password, and it still won't copy. I've tried several password entries. No previous passwords copy.
What now?

Hi @goldensyrup,
I'm sorry to hear you've had all this trouble with changing your Dropbox password and copying previous passwords with 1Password.
Which versions of 1Password and its extension for Chrome are you currently using? The copying bug is resolved in the upcoming 4.3 update:
- Fixed copy in the web form details and previously used passwords fields.
If you're running 1Password 4.2.2 (which has the bug), it's relatively simple switching to the 4.3 beta (which has that fix) by first enabling Include beta builds in the Updates tab of the Preferences window, then checking for updates. Switching from the Mac App Store version is tricker because it uses different data files than the website/beta versions, which aren't kept in sync by default.
Please let us know if you need any help switching if you'd like to give the beta a try.
Or you could submit a Dropbox password reset request on the Forgot password page, then create a new 30-character (or less) password directly from 1Password mini.
We are looking for ways to make it possible to generate longer passwords from the Password Generator in 1Password mini. For now you can create passwords of up to 50 characters through the main app, like you have already been doing. However, I'd also like to mention this comment from our security expert's post here:
The chances of cracking a random 23 character password (or 128 bit key) within the age of the universe using a billion supercomputers is so small that there there is no meaningful security gain in making it any larger.

Agree with OP...PLEASE add the ability to copy previous passwords...the button is there just doesn't work (Mac v4.2.2).
