Forgot Master password

Either I forgot it or it's a system error but the second I created the password, I logged out accidentally by clicking on something and have not been able to log back in. I've tried deleting the software and re-installing to start all over it but apparently it's still registering with my computer. I've even tried to follow the online instructions which starts with creating a back up (even though I have nothing stored in it yet) but I get an error msg saying it cannot create a backup. Please help.
